Heavy trash goes out every Wednesday with regular trash, and City Hall will arrange an extra Friday pickup if you call with a description of the items. Couches, beds, mattresses, and tables are accepted, up to three cubic yards per regular service day. The school district superintendent said in September 2025 that the district has grown by about 10 percent over two years. A move that lands between a lease end and a closing date can leave furniture with nowhere to go. A short-term unit is rented one month at a time.
In residential districts, a trailer, camper, boat, or truck over 11,000 pounds may stay in the front yard, between the house and the street, no more than two days in any seven. Ordinary pickups and vans under 11,000 pounds are not covered by that limit, but no vehicle may park in the yard on a surface other than a paved or gravel driveway. If a trailer or camper is doubling as storage, move what it holds into a 5x10 unit.
